About the Open Graph Generator
Open Graph (OG) tags control how your links appear when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord and other platforms. This tool lets you build a complete set of og: meta tags with a live preview of the social card. Fill in the title, description, URL, image and type, then copy the generated HTML into your page's <head>.
Recommended image size
Use 1200×630 pixels (1.91:1 ratio) for og:image. This is the most widely supported size across Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Keep file size under 8 MB; JPG or PNG work best.
How to use
- Fill in og:title (concise, under ~60 characters).
- Write og:description (~150–160 characters).
- Set og:url to the canonical page URL.
- Add an og:image URL (absolute, publicly accessible).
- Pick og:type and optionally set site_name, locale, and image dimensions.
- Click Update Preview, then Copy HTML and paste into your
<head>.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my image not showing? The og:image URL must be absolute (include https://) and publicly accessible. Some platforms cache images for several days; use the platform's sharing debugger to force a refresh.
Do I need og:image:width and og:image:height? They're optional but recommended — they let platforms render the card without waiting for the image to load, avoiding layout shifts.
What's the difference between og:title and the <title> tag? <title> is shown in browser tabs and search results; og:title is shown specifically in social share cards. They can differ to optimize for each context.
